FOSTER+PARTNERS | Future Proof Exhibition

When Foster+Partners brought their „Future Proof” travelling exhibition to Romania, its first showing in the country; the brief was clear in its demands and unforgiving in its context: display furniture for dozens of intricate architectural models, installed in a landmark heritage space in Iasi – The Palace of Culture.

We designed and produced two distinct display systems. For the main hall, a large-format circular platform with a mirror-polished surface, placing the iconic models at the center of the room and doubling the exhibition downward into the floor. For the gallery spaces, a series of long, continuous birch display tables; clean, modular, and scaled to carry an entire retrospective of Foster + Partners’ work without competing with it. Along with the most challenging piece, the „mirror wall” – a 6 by 3.5m height mirror finished diorama wall, that held two of the most iconic models displayed by Foster+Partners in the exhibition.

All systems had to perform across different room heights, lighting conditions, and floor surfaces, while remaining consistent enough in language to read as a single exhibition. That’s the actual challenge with touring shows: the furniture is the constant, and everything else changes.
